On Wednesday 30th August, the Fountain Gate Secondary College Year 7 EAL class travelled to Melbourne to take part in ‘Stories for Life’, which was part of the Melbourne Writers Festival. Upon arriving at the city, the class visited the State Library of Victoria. Students then walked through the city (gaining an appreciation of street art in Hosier Lane on the way). The ‘Stories for Life’ event was held at Deakin Edge in Federation Square, and featured three authors: Abdi Aden, Alice Pung and Christopher Raja. These authors shared stories about the writing process, their travels to Australia and their inspirations.
